In 2018, Grimm Audio revised the Grimm CC1, resulting in a jitter reduction to just 0.6 ps (from 10 Hz upwards), an improvement of more than 10 dB compared to the previous model. The features and other specifications remained completely unchanged.
 
The Grimm CC1 is an exceptionally low-jitter word clock generator. The 16 word clock outputs, which can be switched between single, double, and quadruple base frequencies, along with the AES11 DARS output, offer the flexibility to synchronize even highly complex studio setups. The CC1 can synchronize to word clock or AES, with the AES output also functioning as a "de-jitter" for the AES input. The overwhelming precision of the generated clock makes the CC1 an ideal expansion module for AD/DA converters, enhancing their performance.
 
With the CC1, Grimm presents one of the most stable and accurate audio synchronizers available. The CC1 can function either as a standalone master clock, providing other digital devices with extremely error-free and precise clock signals, or as a re-clocker that takes an existing clock signal via AES or BNC, perfects it, and passes it on. It goes even further: the CC1 can act as a master clock via BNC to synchronize other digital devices while simultaneously taking an existing AES signal (e.g., from a DA converter), and outputting it jitter-free and synchronized. This allows you to synchronize devices that do not have a BNC input. Brilliant!
 
By synchronizing their digital devices with the CC1, users typically achieve an extreme increase in sonic spatial depth, signal stability, tuning, and groove. The frequency distribution also often appears "more authentic." With the CC1, anyone can now incorporate the unique sound of a truly stable clock into their studio.
